Empowering Next Generation Through Intelligence & Healthy Lifestyle

Jakarta, 27 July 2024 – Mensa Indonesia and Youth Dozer successfully hosted a dynamic event titled “Unlocking Youth Potential: Empowering the Next Generation Through Intelligence and Healthy Lifestyle.” The event aimed to inspire and equip young individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to enhance both their intellectual and physical well-being. The session was supported by Nutrifood, L-Men, Hilo, and IQ DEVPRO®, bringing together prominent speakers and key insights.

The event featured two notable speakers: Nino Indrawan, L-Men of the Year 2021, and Radita Sonix, the founder of IQ DEVPRO®. Both speakers are a member of Mensa Indonesia who shared their expertise and experiences, focusing on the intersection of intelligence and a healthy lifestyle.

During the event, Nino emphasized the importance of consistency in exercise, advising participants to maintain a regular workout schedule and to consume nutritious foods. He highlighted that a well-rounded diet and consistent physical activity are crucial components of a healthy lifestyle, which in turn supports cognitive function. Nino also pointed out that regular exercise plays a significant role in reducing stress levels, which can have a positive impact on overall mental and emotional health. Discussing intelligence, Nino stressed that it manifests in various forms and is not confined to traditional academic metrics. He encouraged participants to become generalists, exploring a wide range of skills and knowledge areas.

Following Nino’s insights on physical health and general intelligence, Radita Sonix provided a comprehensive overview of maintaining brain functionality. He outlined four key elements:

  1. Adequate Oxygen and Hydration: Ensuring sufficient oxygen intake and staying well-hydrated are fundamental for optimal brain function.
  2. Minimizing Toxins: Avoiding excessive consumption of toxins such as alcohol and tobacco is crucial for maintaining cognitive health.
  3. Regular Exercise: Physical activity is essential for overall health, including cognitive well-being.
  4. Continuous Learning: Engaging in new learning opportunities is vital for brain development and adaptation, and it also helps reduce the risk of brain degenerative processes.

Sonix highlighted that acquiring new skills requires focused learning time, often less than 20 hours, to achieve basic proficiency. This approach encourages individuals to continuously challenge themselves and expand their skill sets. He emphasized that learning new skills not only adds to one’s knowledge but also plays a crucial role in maintaining cognitive health and mitigating age-related cognitive decline.

Both speakers stressed that intelligence is multifaceted, encompassing more than just IQ. They discussed the importance of being well-rounded, suggesting that exploring diverse interests and acquiring various skills can lead to a more enriched and versatile life.

The event was not only insightful but also filled with fun and laughter. The speakers used easy-to-understand terms and incorporated humor into their presentations, making complex topics accessible and engaging for the audience. This relaxed atmosphere encouraged open dialogue and ensured that the key messages were well-received, making the learning experience enjoyable for everyone involved.

The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to interact with the speakers and delve deeper into the topics discussed. This interactive component underscored the event’s aim to not only educate but also to inspire actionable steps toward personal growth and well-being.

“Unlocking Youth Potential” successfully conveyed the message that a balanced approach to health and intelligence is key to thriving in today’s fast-paced world. Mensa Indonesia and Youth Dozer look forward to continuing this partnership, with more events planned to further support and empower Indonesia’s youth.
